Starting in 2023, PH&C began assisting the Lidl US team with their store development projects in the PA, NJ and DE markets as an External Construction Manager. We have continued to perform for Lidl and assist in opening new stores!
On July 11, 2025, we participated in our 5th store grand opening, which occurred in Bear, DE.
This particular store was built in 2021 but due to market situations, it never opened. Our team worked with the Lidl team, Architect and Engineers to identify the current conditions, value engineer and adapt the designs to meet the current Lidl prototype store. We functioned as the Owner’s Representative, procuring a General Contractor, managing all budgets, timelines, quality checks, and external/internal professional/partners.
Key tasks and functions included:

Manage GC bidding process following LiDL US protocols, negotiate bids and prepare Award Recommendation to provide to the LiDL regional responsible party for review and execution.

Manage, coordinate, administer all aspects of fit-out project and contract administration to LiDL process standards.

Routinely maintain and update LiDL’s project management system and programs.

Communicate schedule updates, project milestones and timeline changes to the Lidl regional responsible party on a weekly basis.

Manage all activities and communications between general contractors, stakeholders, and consultants to deliver stores within scheduled timeframes and budgets.

Complete quality assurance steps throughout the construction phase utilizing LiDL standard Checklists.

Conduct final punch inspections, coordinate design team punch items and assemble one consolidated punch list. Manage punch closeout to completion.

Complete project closeout. Assemble and review contractor warranties, O&M manuals and as-built drawings as required in the project specifications. Complete LiDL final acceptance and closeout documentation.
